Yamuna 101 Series - The Lungs
Saturday 27th February 2021
Live Online via Zoom
10 - 11.30pm £16
The lungs are the organ of respiration and of oxygenation of blood. Movement is autonomic but something we can control and effect. We flex and extend the lungs through our movements too; side stretches/reaching, forward folding twisting, back bending etc. We can restrict the capacity of our lungs through poor posture but through movement we can mobilise the rib cage and thoracic spine and create not just greater mobility but improved lung capacity too. We will highlight the importance of breathing and the mechanics of breathing in our muscular skeletal systems through the Yamuna Method. You will feel energised, awake and if not exactly a foot taller, feel as if you are.
I am making all these sessions as accessible as possible in terms of the balls we will be using. For this workshop a Pearl or Gold are the balls of choice. If you need to buy a gold or pearl ball please head to the link to the Yamuna Shop. I highly recommend having your own balls and if you don’t yet have a ball and/or a pair of black balls these are especially useful for all the routines. You can purchase them from me or request to loan a pair before the workshop if you are an existing student with me. Balls are available locally to Winchester for collection or delivery.
Your zoom link will be sent after registration and the day before the workshop. A link to the recording will be sent out afterwards too so you can maintain your own self care practice at home.
