Yoga and Yamuna Body Rolling for Cyclists
Starts Tuesday 8th March 7 - 8pm
A course specifically for cyclists!! This 4 week course is a series of sessions that combine the practices of Yoga and Yamuna Body Rolling to meet the unique physical requirements of the cyclist’s body. These practices are for EVERY BODY and aim to build strength, flexibility, balance and agility.
A combination of stretching and strengthening our muscles creates more balance in our overall movement and as well as increasing range of motion you prevent injury and have more efficiency, power and ease whilst on your bike and faster recovering times when you get off.
We will focus on key muscles groups affected by cycling; Quads, Calves, Hamstrings, Hip flexors/extensors and IT band as well as the Psoas. Through the Yamuna work we will also look at how the position of the pelvis affects the way you ride and/or experience discomfort and the affect it has on your lower back and hip rotators. We will also include foot work to open the plantar fascia and as a means to balance the ankle and knee joints.
This method of combining Yoga and Yamuna Body Rolling allows us to not only look at muscles groups and movement but also our bones, joints and fascia too. All the Yamuna balls and foot equipment required for the course are provided in class. Please bring your own mat.
